THE SYSTEM is now live and running on authentic 1981 IBM PC hardware. After months of development, optimization, and testing on real vintage equipment, the project has achieved its goal: bringing modern AI conversations to original PC architecture.
What’s Working:
- Full AI chat functionality on IBM PC 5150
- Multiple AI personalities with distinct specialties
- Optimized performance for 4.77MHz Intel 8088 processors
- Authentic DOS interface with period-appropriate aesthetics
- Real-time conversations with GPT, Mistral, and Llama models
Current Status: THE SYSTEM is stable and functional on original hardware. The complete source code is available on GitHub, including all performance optimizations and hardware-specific adaptations developed during the build process.
Future Updates: This blog will serve as the central hub for any updates, improvements, or new developments related to THE SYSTEM. Whether it’s performance enhancements, additional AI agents, or community contributions, all project news will be posted here.
